La società dei Paesi Bassi MX3D studia e sviluppa tecnologie innovative e redditizie di stampa robotica in 3D. MX3D ha la capacità di stampare in 3D oggetti intelligenti e funzionali composti da materiali sostenibili in qualsiasi forma, con dimensioni ed efficienza di gran lunga superiori rispetto a quanto è stato prodotto fino a oggi.
Il progetto è sostenuto dai partner Autodesk, Heijmans e ArcelorMittal, dagli sponsor Air Liquide, ABB Robotics, STV, Delcam, Lenovo, Oerlikon, UL, Plymovent, Maxibel, Desso e dai partner pubblici TU Delft, AMS Fieldlab e dal Comune di Amsterdam.
Project
Utilizzando robot in grado di “disegnare” strutture in acciaio in 3D, MX3D stamperà un ponte sull’acqua al centro di Amsterdam. Il ponte sarà progettato da Joris Laarman. Questo procedimento sperimentale, che utilizza i nuovi strumenti del software Autodesk, sarà un progetto di ricerca esso stesso. 3D Printed Bridge è una collaborazione tra MX3D, Autodesk, l’impresa di costruzioni Heijmans e molti altri partner. Il ponte dimostrerà come la stampa 3D sta entrando nel mondo degli oggetti funzionali di grande scala realizzati con materiali sostenibili, consentendo una libertà formale un tempo inconcepibile. Il simbolismo del ponte è una splendida metafora della connessione della tecnologia del futuro con la vecchia città, realizzata in modo da valorizzare il meglio dei due mondi.

The Dutch company MX3D researches and develops pioneering, profitable robotic 3D print technology. MX3D has the capacity to 3D print smart, functional objects composed of sustainable materials in virtually any shape, much larger and more efficiently than has been possible up until now. The project is supported by the partners Autodesk, Heijmans and ArcelorMittal, the sponsors Air Liquide, ABB robotics, STV, Delcam, Lenovo, Oerlikon, UL, Plymovent, Maxibel, Desso and the public partners TU Delft, AMS Fieldlab and the Municipality of Amsterdam.
Project
With robots that can “draw” steel structures in 3D, MX3D will print a bridge over water in the center of Amsterdam. The bridge will be designed by Joris Laarman. This experimental process, using new Autodesk software tools, will be a research project in itself. The project is a collaboration between MX3D, Autodesk, construction company Heijmans and many other partners. This bridge will show how 3D printing finally enters the world of large-scale functional objects realized with sustainable materials, while they are allowing unprecedented freedom of form. The symbolism of the bridge is a beautiful metaphor to connect the technology of the future with the old city, in a way that brings out the best of both worlds.
